Guajillo Chilies

Description

Guajillo chilies are one of the most versatile chilies in the Mexican kitchen.  Guajillos have mild to medium heat and a sweet taste with tones of nuts and tea.

There are so many ways to use these whole guajillo chilies.  Most often, you’ll remove the stems and seeds first. The next step could include toasting, re-hydrating or grinding in a blender. Chilies are always combined with other ingredients, including other types of chilies to create uniquely Mexican flavours.

Toasted and ground into powder, guajillos are a key ingredient in Bluewater Pepper Farm Chipotle Chili Powder.  These guajillo chilies have a deep red colour with a pliable texture.
